The Suitcase of the Future

I am always intrigued at the new gadgets that are unveiled each year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The 2018 event introduced one product that has captured my interest. As an avid traveler, anything to make the traveling process easier is worth a listen.

The ForwardX Robotics, CX-1 suitcase is best described as the world’s first self-driving carry-on. This intelligent piece of luggage will follow you around like your well-trained dog.

The suitcase has a 170-degree, wide angle security camera and built-in facial recognition software.

The CX-1 boasts its stability even on the toughest terrains, speed bumps, dirt roads with its four-wheel drive performance. It can travel up to 7 miles per hour if necessary to keep up with its owner through an airport terminal!

It has a built-in Smart Alarm protection system and a user wristband that guarantees the safety of your suitcase. The wristband is synced to the alarm system and will remind you to check on your CX-1 when it is too far away from you, running low on power, or severely bumped. Other features work with the tracking algorithm to keep would-be thieves at bay.

According to Uber Gizmo, the suitcase is controlled using simple hand gestures, making sure a user never has to “fiddle with any controls” to get it moving. In fact, they don’t even have to turn around to face it.

The CX-1 comes equipped with a built-in mobile charger to quickly keep your devices up and running.

The case is slim and stylish and can move vertically and horizontally across the floor.

The ForwardX Robotics, CX-1 suitcase should be ready for purchase by the end of the year. No price on the item has been given at this time.

Maybe next year they will come up with carry-on luggage that can jump up to the overhead bin for storage! I would most definitely be interested.
