5 Morning Habits to Get Off on the Right Foot

Ladies, life is stressful enough.  If you think of everything you need to do this week, today, in the next hour.  I bet I’m giving you anxiety right now!  You’ve got a ton to do, but in order to have the perfect execution, let’s get you off on the right foot.  Here are five quick morning rituals to complete before you start your day.

1. Stretch- Stretching has incredible benefits not only to your body, but also your mind and energy levels.  Research studies show that stretching improves blood flow, and reduces aches and pains.  Both of which will contribute to boosting your mood.

2. Breathe and Meditate- Breathing is an automatic process, it requires no thought.  Stop for a second and take a deep breath.  Breathe and meditate.  Taking a moment to clear your mind and only consider your breath, is proven to decrease anxiety and stress.  If only for a minute, take this time for yourself.

3. Drink water-  Your body is more than 50% water.  Water is essential to living, but I bet that you don’t drink enough of it.  Start your day with a glass, and then remember to keep drinking it!

4. Eat- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Too often, we skip this meal as we rush off to work, our fitness class, or get the kids to school.  Unacceptable.  Your body needs food to fuel your day.  You wouldn’t go anywhere with no gas in your car!  Grab a bite, you’ll thank yourself later!

5.Gratitude- Taking a minute to remind yourself of everything your grateful for is humbling.  It will also bring joy and positivity into your life to remind yourself of the good things.  If you make it a priority to name three points of gratitude a day, you’ll see an improvement in your mood in the long run!

Completing these five activities is necessary.  If you’re looking to improve and increase your energy levels and moods, take this advice!  You’re busy, we understand.  But, if you don’t take care of yourself, you will not be at your best.  Just a few minutes in the morning will make all the difference!
